Glitnir was an international Icelandic bank.
On 20 February 2009, in light of the Icelandic financial crisis, the bank's name was changed back to the original Íslandsbanki.

At Glitnir
At Glitnir bank I was both part of the marketing team and the web solutions team. I was responsible for updating all of Glitnir's webs and make sure they were always up to date and consistent with the ads the bank was running in other media at any given moment. I made sure that the banners from the ad agency fitted into our overall look and feel on the web.
Glitnir's bonus club
The first product page I put together was the "Glitnir's bonus club" page.
In 2007 at a conference at Ímark that focused on the web as a marketing tool Gunnar Th Sigurðsson, manager of e-business at JÁ, took this product page as a good example of an excellent landing page for a product on the web.

- Easy access to "contact us"
- You are able to measure the goals
- The user's position on the web is clear

The Glitnir bonus club is a good example of great collaboration and what you can do when everyone contributes 100%, especially the product marketing manager for that product. Without good input, the people in charge of the web have nothing to work with.
glitnir.is wins best corporate website
In 2008 glitnir.is won best corporate website at the Icelandic web awards for the year 2007.
The selection committee's review:
"The strength of the web rests on two intertwined roles of exemplary corporate webs; the web is key element in the overall marketing strategy of the company as well as an excellent sales and service tool with numerous self-service options. After the bank changed it's name and launched a new site with a new design it got noticed for professionalism and ambition. A reputation the web team has kept since."
